A comprehensive treatment of traditional papermaking in Japan includes instructions for making Japanese paper in the West (including a simplified version for the novice); directions for weaving the flexible mold surface (su), a fully documented technique; a detailed guide to cultivating paper mulberry (kozo) in the West; and an appendix by Winifred Lutz on locating, testing, and adapting North American fibers to the Japanese papermaking process.
