Abstract
Objects of various materials which are exposed in the interior of museums were analyzed to find out whether air pollution caused any harm to them. Inorganic materials proved to be very resistant in the interior with some exceptions. With inorganic materials it was difficult to find a connection between higher amounts of sulfates in paper, textiles and leather, for they also were introduced by the manufacturing process. It was concluded there is no danger for art objects from air pollutants in the interior of museums if normal climatic conditions are maintained. See also AATA 11-525. -- AATA
