The revitalization of a 17th-century stately home, its landscaped park, and other estate land was undertaken after a careful evaluation of the condition of the built and natural components of the property and the owner's relationship to it in terms of financial commitment, usage, and inheritance position. The first stage of the architectural renovation program for the manor included damp-proofing and pest control treatments, installation of new electrical and heating systems, and restoration or readaptation of five of the 35 rooms in the house.
