The author gives details on the renovation work on the Péterffy Mansion in downtown Budapest. The building itself had been reconstructed several times, but the limestone ornaments were not given too much attention before. During the renovation in 1979-1980 the concretecompletion method was disregarded and -- at the suggestion of experts -- the damaged statues and the vase were hewn again from hard limestone quarried in Sütto. -- AATA
