Abstract
Report on a unique, almost complete, late Iron Age boat, 12.78 m long, with fitted transom, extended bow, etc., and a cargo of beef joints. The size and condition of the tree used, the number of crew (5-20), and possible uses are considered. Conclusions are drawn about the changing environment from the 4th millennium BC to the 1st millennium AD and about the Iron Age Humber coastline. A new dendrochronological sequence for eastern England is established for 699-323 BC.
