Abstract
In the past few years progress in thermoluminescence (TL) dating has been in three main directions all of which rely on a greater understanding of the TL properties of quartz and feldspar minerals. In one of the developments, extensive studies of quartz and alkali feldspar inclusions extracted from the same pottery samples enable one to obtain a TL age with a total uncertainty of less than 7%.
