A new and previously unsuspected systematic error associated with the older radiocarbon counter at the Radiocarbon Laboratory of the University of Sydney means that some of the radiocarbon ages previously reported by this laboratory have to be corrected. All samples processed before 1978 and about half between the end of 1977 and November 1980 need correction. The corrections are by a few hundred years for the dates most severely affected. -- AATA
