In answer to questions regarding lacquering black-and-white prints and use of glass cleaner containing ammonia on frame glass, the magazine staff says: use of spray lacquer on black and-white prints does not give protection from attack on the silver image and is not a substitute for selenium toning in increasing the longevity of the prints; glass cleaners with ammonia are no problem if the glass is allowed to dry thoroughly; a spacing mat to keep the photo from contact with the glass is recommended to avoid glazed spots on the print or possible adherence of the image to the glass. -- AATA
