The analytical method presented in the paper can be used for the analysis of all kinds of metal objects as well as that of glass-like substances and paints. Avar bronze objects were investigated by a silicon-lithium x-ray spectrophotometer attached to a multiple channel analyzer and a mini-computer. The emission source was a 10 milli-cune capacity ₁₂₅ isotope. A 5 millimeter diameter titanium collimater providing information for an area of about 7 millimeters and a depth of 0.1 millimeter completed the set.
