Abstract
Experience has taught that record wear all to often begins with dust being attracted by static electricity. One must keep both away from discs and turntables as much as possible. Low humidity is an enemy of discs because it leads to the generation of static electricity. One of the principal kinds of record dust is paper crumbs from record jackets. Keep your turntable and its surroundings dust-free with regular vacuuming.
