Twenty potsherds of each of 2 groups, representing pottery finds at Mycenae and Knossos, were analyzed by neutron activation for 10 elements. The results indicate that this procedure can be a useful complement to the emission spectrographic method of anal., both as a check on the latter and as a means of extending the range of elements determinable to considerably lower concns. One sample in each of the 2 groups definitely seems not to belong to its supposed compositional category: with these exceptions, the groups established by emission spectrographic anal. appear to retain their homo geneity when elements present at a lower concn. level are detd. -- AATA
