Abstract
Thermally stimulated exo-electrons (TSEE) are observed from surfaces of insulating as well as conducting materials. In a dating program TSEE can be useful for measuring the beta dose of the sample to be dated and the site gamma dose. Determination of palaeodose by TSEE is vitiated by the effects of adsorption and desorption which influence the TSEE greatly. Examples of the similarities and dissimilarities between TSEE and TL of different types of materials are given. TSEE glow curves are presented for quartz, BeO, a copper coin, and gold and platinum foils. Examples of TSEE glow emission by surface reactions and desorption are presented. The exo-electron spectrum of the TSEE glow peak of BeO is not monoenergetic but is found to possess an energy distribution. -- AATA
