Abstract
Using microwaves (length 1 mm-10 cm, frequency 300 Hz-0,3 GHz), the Warsaw Conservation Research Department and at the Wroclaw Polytechnical University, seem to have found an effective, non-toxic and non-destructive method for the preservation of wood. Microwaves can raise the temperature within the wood by 15%. The total destruction of insect larvae depends on temperature, voltage and duration of treatment. -- AATA
