Contributions on conservation of the 6th International Conference on Oriental Carpets, November 1990, San Francisco, are briefly summarized here. A manager of materials technology from General Electric is reported to have delivered a controversial lecture on light source levels and fading. Carbon dating of carpets was also discussed, as was dye analysis.
