Abstract
This project involves the investigation of gilded decoration on furniture with the use of various analytical techniques. The study examines metallic leafs, powders and paints of known composition applied to a wood substrate. The analytical techniques studied include normal and ultraviolet light microscopy, x-ray fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy.
