A seventeenth century Persian tile spandrel in the collection of The Brooklyn Museum was examined and treated. Old restorations were reversed and each tile was restored in preparation for mounting. Concurrent with the treatment of the tiles, an alternative mounting system was developed that is lightweight and reversible. Technological aspects were also examined.
