Abstract
A number of fundamental management issues will be considered first. These issues have major significance for conservation, especially within a museum or other large institution. Afterward, some key issues and actions that concern the management of conservation will be indicated. In such a brief paper, this will involve raising questions and blocking out problem areas rather than, in most cases, specifying solutions. Management, both as a practical activity and as a body of knowledge, encompasses a large body of material that can only be highlighted here.
