Abstract
An exercise in experimental archaeology, the reconstruction of a Greek tortoise-shell lyre is undertaken by combining evidence from written and pictorial sources, the few actual remains, and modern lyre techniques; a method of reconstructing a replica of the Greek lyra is described. Problems in materials and design are discussed. See 18-1076. -- AATA
