Abstract
This article describes the first comprehensive exhibition of Hellenistic gold jewelry in 1965 by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The authenticity of certain pieces in this exhibition was questioned by several experts. The fakes and their production methods are described in comparison to authentic designs and forms of manufacture.
