Abstract
Three pairs of flax, fir and cotton fibers were viewed and photographed under the SEM. These Institute of Paper Chemistry samples were also analyzed by a Tractor Northern computer to determine elemental composition. The goal of this pilot project was to determine whether the processing techniques used on these paper fibres could be distinguished by this visual inspection or by the elemental analysis. A very brief discussion of the results and methodology is provided.
