Five fragments from Dolni Vestonice are the subject of a continuing study. Bulk composition was determined for the five fragments using and electron beam microprobe along with a sample of loess soil collected near the site. Refiring tests and differential thermal analysis studies show that at least four of the five samples have been fired, but not all of the clay minerals have been transformed. Xeroradiography, x-ray diffraction and microscopic examination of these samples have also been carried out. Scanning electron microscopy and gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometroscopy are also planned.
