An annotated card index of carbon-14 dates directly relating to Old World cultural material of palaeolithic and mesolithic age and New World material older than 7000 BP was compiled in 1972 to include all previously published dates and is updated annually; the purpose of this index is to prevent reduplication of valuable research time. The file has been entered onto a microcomputer: the equipment and the retrieval system are described. -- AATA
