On the basis of refractive indices, chemical analyses, and mineralogical examination samples of pumices from the North Coast of Cyprus, from Morphu to Kormakitu, have been distinguished into two groups. On the basis of data in the literature the source of the first group of pumices is assigned to Milos, Jali and Kos Islands and the source of the second group to Santorini.
