Abstract
The Tiantishan Grottoes (Bailiang Grottoes) are ancient. Aiming at the preservation condition of painted statues, with reference to traditional measures, a new method was used for the restoration and conservation of a painted sculpture of the Tiantishan Grottoes: by filling in the cracking parts with watered mud mixed with polyvinyl acetate and sticky rice, choosing 5% PB72 as a reinforcement and protect agent, a very good effect was achieved. The method may be used for the restoration of other sculptures. -- ICCROM
