Abstract
Robes with braids on the waist were popular in the Yuan Dynasty, yet robe relics in good shape are very rare. The shape and the particular steps to reconstruct a Yuan Dynasty purple twill damask robe with waist braids are introduced here. According to the technique of gold couching embroidery and waist braids, the embroidery was stitched with the sun pattern on the right shoulder, the silk braids and pleats, cutting and sewing the skirt and two sleeves which has disappeared. The conservation technique of this robe respected the textile relics reversibility principle. -- ICCROM
