Abstract
The development of microscale methods of examining buildings in relation to architectural conservation is outlined. The intention of the lab is to provide a practical facility that can be used by non-technically trained personnel. The lab equipment and various problems of examination and research are described. The lab's findings are codified, and will ultimately be computerized. -- AATA
