Since the 3rd millenium B.C., lead and silver were extracted from a complicated series of various ores of lead, silver, copper, and zinc. The slags, which vary considerably in their composition, were analyzed chemically, microscopically, and by phase analysis. The archaeological data for the metallurgical activity at Siphnos are compared with thermoluminescence of pottery found together with slags. -- AATA
