Abstract
Seeks to rehabilitate the Bronze Age copper mines of Mt. Gabriel (Ireland) and Alderley Edge (England) to their rightful antiquity. The use and age of grooved stone hammers are discussed. The lack of contemporary slag heap in Western Europe is also discussed correlated with the low iron content in the bronzes, suggesting a simple smelting technology. -- AATA
