Abstract
Isotope excited x-ray fluorescence spectrometry was utilized to quantify barium levels in porcelain from the Ch'ing Dynasty, Republic, and Modern periods. Until 1940 all porcelains during the Ch'ing Dynasty and Republic periods at Ching-Te Chen are tightly grouped at 100-130 ppm barium. Subsequently reproductions vary from 60 to 7000 ppm making them differentiable in most cases by the barium content alone. -- AATA
