Abstract
Isotope excited x-ray fluorescence spectrometry was used to measure the ratio of Zn K to Rb Kb emissions from undecorated areas of the porcelain surface. Prior to 1940 Ching-Te Chen porcelains were found to possess a ratio of less than. 12+.03 while all pieces made subsequently were higher. Of 122 pieces tested only a small percentage are not differentiable in this way. -- AATA
