(Brookhaven Natl. Lab., Upton, N.Y.) Neutron activation autoradiography was used to examine and aid in identification of oil paintings. The paintings were irradiated with a thermal neutron flux of 10⁹ neutrons/ cm²/sec and gamma activation was measured periodically using a Ge(Li) detector.
