Abstract
(Brookhaven Natl. Lab., Upton, N.Y.) Neutron activation autoradiography was used to examine and aid in identification of oil paintings. The paintings were irradiated with a thermal neutron flux of 109 neutrons/ cm2/sec and gamma activation was measured periodically using a Ge(Li) detector. Autoradiographs were recorded on x-ray and blueand uvsensitive commercial film. Na, K, Cl, and Sr were present in the paint -- AATA
