Abstract
To overcome two difficult points in the preservation of architectural colored wood pieces with no ground layer, one is to prevent pigment from shedding off, the other is to prevent the surface of color drawing from blackening. In the conservation of Caiyi Tang in Changshu, sealing fiber pore in wood was the first step to take, then modified B-72 prescription was applied with ultraviolet absorber, the oil substance (in wood) consolidant, antistatic, antifouling ingredients added for surface chemical protection. The results were quite satisfactory.
