An exact replica of the Liberty Bell (weighing 2100 lb./955 kg.) was cast in December, 1985, as a gift from Philadelphia to its sister city, Kobe, Japan. The bell was cast from 81 Cu-19 Sn (bell bronze), the same alloy as the Liberty Bell. Because of cleaner casting, the bell is not expected to crack as the original did in 1835. -- AATA
