Anthropological museums have a great role to play in both production and use of ethnographic films. Various approaches taken in the production of ethnographic films are discussed. Film can be important in museum displays for documenting material culture; the educational value of the exhibit is enhanced when the discrete static series is integrated with a dynamic action flow. The use of the videodisc to store exhibition material - film, videotape, slides, sound, graphics, text, and computer programs - is described. Besides the use of such materials in public education, museums are ideally suited for the conservation, archiving, and indexing of audiovisual materials for scholarly research. -- AATA
