Abstract
Gilded furniture, Empire-style, dated 1807-1835, is now in the Royal Palaces of Brussels and Laken Residence. The upholstery is Beauvais tapestry. The dyes of the sofas upholstered in 1816-1824 and 1835 faded in a different way; the phenomenon can be explained by an improved dyeing suggested by E. Chevreuil. The repair and the consolidation of the tapestry is described.
