A National Park Service office in San Francisco, the National Maritime Initiative, is compiling an inventory of the historic maritime resources of the United States. The database includes shipwrecks, lighthouses, small craft, documents and collections. The inventory uses dBASE III PLUS to make accessible the information required to meet the existing emergency in the preservation of these resources. Entries to date are being released for review, correction and addition.
