Abstract
The National Park Service has adopted an automated national catalog system (ANCS) to contain the accession and catalog records of the estimated 25 million specimens in park service museum custody. ANCS provides a microcomputer-based relational database management system using dBASE III PLUS software. The brief article outlines its capabilities and notes the early availability at cost of the program disks and user manual.
