Abstract
Glazes on 22 specimens of sherds and four lead-glazed sherds excavated in the Aichi prefecture were analyzed by electron microprobe analysis, and the raw materials required to make these glazes were calculated. Due to the presence of much iron -- around 10-20% Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> -- in some glazes, the author claims the existence of iron glaze in addition to lead glaze and lime glaze. -- AATA
