Abstract
Seventy sherds from the Romano-British kiln site at Alice Holt, Hampshire, have been analyzed for 20-23 elements using inductively-coupled plasma emission spectrometry. For most elements, the analytical values have an approximate Gaussian distribution. The analyses of local clay are consistent with its use to make the pottery. Neighboring Ooewey kilns produce pottery which is analytically distinct from that of Alice Holt.
