Abstract
Grain size analysis in thin-section of multiple samples from individual bricks and tiles shows that a measurement of 150 grains is sufficient to define the fabric. Preliminary results on tiles from York indicate that archaeologically significant groups may be distinguished by this method. See also 20-1992. -- AATA
