A method of removing undesirable organic matter -- such as food soil, paint, etc. -- from surfaces, involves contacting the matter with imidazole, pyrazole, an alkylor aryl-substituted imidazole, an alkylor aryl-substituted pyrazole, or a mixture of two or more thereof.
