Specific problems in the care of historical, anthropological, archaeological, and art collections are discussed, with an emphasis upon conservation, maintenance, and documentation. The strategies include recommendations for improving the physical environments of the collection, instituting collections management procedures and documentation to gain control of collections, organizing conservation priorities and utilizing channels for conservation information, and bringing to the public's attention the use and care of collections.
