In the summer of 1982, after a long and detailed study of the situation, the Faaborg Museum (Faaborg, Denmark) underwent a restoration program which resulted in improved lighting and environmental conditions, but did not visibly disturb its appearance. Skylights were double-glazed with ultraviolet filtering material, windows were fitted with ultraviolet absorbing glass and the air-conditioning system was expanded. The interior was returned to its original 1915 appearance: renovating the mosaic-tiled floor and a repainting of the walls with the original colors. Security was improved by the forbidding of smoking within the building, the placement of works of art behind glass, and the installation of an electric monitoring system. -- AATA
