Abstract
The limit of radiocarbon dating could be pushed to 65,000 years by a new instrument, developed by L. K. B.-Wallac in Finland, based on ideas of Mr. H. Polach, Head of Australian National University Radiocarbon Dating Laboratory, Canberra, the prototype of which has just been installed in his laboratory. Commercial production is planned. Use of a liquid scintillation spectrometer, improved methods of minimizing background count, and recording changes in background count provide the increase in range. -- AATA
