Abstract
The consolidation of works of art with soluble nylons has nearly been abandoned. The analysis of the mechanisms of aging showed irreparable degradation. A reexamination of the mechanisms of aging is now under way; it shows that these mechanisms are equally oxidative in normal atmospheres and in light. It is possible to inhibit them with stabilizing additives. -- AATA
