The treatment consists of the following operations: a) cleaning (ethanol, contairing 2% petrol), b) antimicrobial preservation (vacuum impregnation, 5% ethanol solution of Lastanox Universal), c) petrification, fixation on textile bed, vacuum impregnation (acrylate lacquer KP 709), and d) silicone oil impregnation. The model experiments have been described. Detailed description of the treatment of Josef Capek's linoleum printing block (linoleum engraving of the title page of John Barrow's book Vzpoura na lodi Bounty 1929) has been given. All processes have been modified in such a way that they could be used in every conservation laboratory. -- AATA
