Over 500 examples of querns and millstones from the English South East Midlands are listed and studied. Analysis of these data indicates that quern dimensions change in a consistent way over time and that a significant correlation exists between quern dimension and petrology. The sources of rock used and possible trade routes are considered. There is a short account of quern and mill evolution and suggestions are made for the publication of quern finds. -- AATA
