Abstract
As part of a project sponsored by the Getty Conservation Institute to investigate the effects of humidity and temperature on photochemically induced deterioration, the influence of relative humidity on the rates of fading of four traditional artists' pigments has been investigated: carmine lake, gamboge, alizarin lake, and Vandyke brown.
