Abstract
Fragments of a bell mold composed of small stones, sand and clay were excavated at the Norton Priory site in 1976. The fragments were air dried and then heated to 300°C to remove all moisture. Areas around joins were consolidated with poly(vinyl acetate) and joins made with nitrocellulose adhesive. The outside of the mold was coated with polyurethene foam to act as a support. -- AATA
