Every new exhibition is an exercise in collaboration between various specialists, consultants and advisors. <i>Atlantic Worlds</i>, the latest permanent gallery to open at the National Maritime Museum, is no exception. What was unusual about this project was the extent of the consultation undertaken to develop the content and influence the final design. This article provides a number of case studies to illustrate how the project team identified issues, collaborated on developing practical solutions and learnt lessons for the future.
